START A NEW ORG

Before requesting to start a new organization, please read the guidelines for Registered Student Organizations and then visit UIC CollegiateLink to view the list of already established Registered Student Organizations RSOs. If your organization idea is unique from already established RSOs in mission, purpose, and structure, then you may proceed to request to start a new organization. In order to start a new organization, you will need the following components:

• President
• Vice President
• Treasurer
• Faculty Advisor
• Organization Constitution (see sample here)

Each of the three organization official positions (listed above) must be filled by a UIC student. A student may not hold more than one officer position in the same organization. Each RSO must have at least three members currently enrolled as UIC students. The faculty advisor must be a full time UIC staff or faculty member. Please complete a New Student Organization Request Form to submit your request for a new organization. This form will only be available Monday, April 1 – Friday, April 12, 2013.

If your organization request is approved you will then receive further registration instructions within 5-7 business days. This is only the first of three steps to completing the student organization registration process. The remainder of the process will have to be completed by Friday, April 26, 2013.
