Spark in the Park

Spark in the Park 2014 is almost here! We are happy to announce that this year's event features J. Cole with special guest BAS.

Spark in the Park, UIC's music festival, is a free private event open to UIC students, faculty, and staff. All attendees MUST have a valid UIC i-card to enter. Please note that there are no tickets on sale for this event. Spark in the Park will take place this year on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the UIC Pavilion. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show scheduled to run from 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

J. Cole, our headliner for 2014, is known as one of music's most respected and sought after rap lyricists. With his first album "Cole World: The Sideline Story", the Fayetteville, North Carolina MC solidified his position as a bonafide rap star touring the world with hit records and then earning himself a nomination at the 54th Grammy Awards. His recently released sophomore LP "Born Sinner" features acclaimed hit singles "Power Trip" and "Crooked Smile".
