Our Mission

The Chancellor’s Committee on the Status of Blacks (CCSB) serves as an advisory body to the Chancellor on all matters of concern pertaining to the academic, professional, and social aspects of Black life at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). CCSB takes a leading role to identify, develop, support, and advocate for those things that will improve the climate and conditions for Blacks at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). The CCSB will advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor regarding practices, policies, procedures, and programming that affect Black students, faculty, and staff.

Man's greatness consists in his ability to do and the proper application of his powers to things needed to be done.
