Academic Professional Survey 2009
This year CCSW AP subcommittee will co-sponsor the Academic Professional Survey that is being led by the Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC). The AP Status Task Force of the CCSW AP subcommittee began exploring the idea of a survey for APs in 2006 and learned that APAC was working on a similar project. The task force considered APAC to be the most appropriate group to spearhead this project. The task force continued to work in collaboration with APAC to develop the survey and support APAC’s efforts to bring the project to fruition.
Mentorship Program
In spring 2006, the CCSW AP subcommittee task force on mentorship held a mentoring panel workshop. The premise was to ascertain how interested Academic Professionals were in a mentoring program. The consensus was that APs were VERY interested both to be mentored and to be mentors. Since then the CCSW in conjunction with the Academic Professional Advisory Committee (APAC) has worked on developing a mentoring program, finding it a home and finally bringing it to the staff that are most deserving of a mentoring program, those specifically in the Academic Professional community. In fall 2009, the Academic Professional Mentoring Program (APMP) will launch the pilot program. If you are interested in the program as a mentor or protégé, please send a note to
apmp@uic.edu. Or visit the APMP website:
