UIC Faculty Mentoring Programs

General Programs

  • Office of Faculty Affairs - Faculty Mentoring Program
    Using a group mentoring model, faculty can join mentoring groups of 3 to 5 junior faculty and 1 to 2 senior faculty, grouped by academic interests or disciplines.  Organized by the Office of Faculty Affairs.

  • Faculty Affairs Brown Bag Mentoring Series
    Senior faculty lead lunchtime discussions that will give junior and mid-career colleagues a chance to talk informally about some of their experiences and to network with others.

Specific Programs

  • Library Faculty Mentoring Program 
    The mentoring program is designed to benefit new faculty by helping them to successfully negotiate the UIC review, promotion, and tenure process, to learn the research process, and to understand UIC faculty activities outside the Library.

  • Underrepresented Faculty Mentoring Program (UFMP)

  • BIRCWH - Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health
    The overall purpose of this BIRCWH program is to institutionalize a generative scholar training program that will optimize the success of junior faculty in developing a substantive and sustained research program in women’s health science.

  • Center for Clinical and Translational Science - Mentoring Academy
    The Mentoring Academy was established to raise the profile of mentoring at UIC and to focus appropriate resources and effort on effective mentoring.  Includes a listing of CCTS mentors and a link to a searchable directory of UIC researchers.

  • Center for Clinical and Translational Science – Scholars Program
    The CCTS Scholars Program will pair selected scholars with mentors who will provide appropriate guidance in developing individualized curricula and career plans to help them become national leaders in interdisciplinary clinical and translational
