Are you interested in graduate work in Chemical Engineering?

Opportunities for fascinating graduate work in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) are available. Entry-level salaries for chemical engineering graduates are among the highest: $53,000 (B.S.) $65,000 (M.S.), and $75,000 (Ph.D.). All Chemical Engineering degrees are professional degrees. Who is eligible?

Students with a B.S. or B.A. in chemistry are eligible to pursue a M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Applicants should have a B average and a good background in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

What do you have to do?

Typically, students entering the UIC Chemical Engineering Graduate Program with a B.S. or B.A. in Chemistry are required to take six undergraduate courses in chemical engineering:

ChE 210, Mass and Energy Balances,

ChE 301, Chemical Thermodynamics,

ChE 311, Transport Phenomena I (Momentum and Energy Transfer),

ChE 312, Transport Phenomena II (Energy and Mass Transfer),

ChE 313, Transport Phenomena III (Separation Processes), and

ChE 321, Chemical Reaction Engineering.

These courses can be completed in two semesters after which you go on to the regular graduate program to earn your advance degree.
