Over 385 acres, the Chicago Botanic Gardens consist of 23 theme gardens, including aquatic, Japanese, and a rose garden.

Lincoln Park Zoo

Free admission
One of the oldest zoological gardens in the country, the Lincoln Park Zoo is home to more than 1,000 animals. It includes a children's petting zoo, an interactive environmental learning center, and a fine primate house.
