Hailing from Alabama, Jenny Korn has attended Princeton, Harvard, and Northwestern. She has written one bachelor's thesis, two master's theses, and a theatrical play that has been performed to a sold-out audience. Based on its faculty research, organizational culture, institutional support, departmental reputation, graduate community, and overall fit, the University of Illinois at Chicago was Jenny's choice for doctoral training in the field of communication. At UIC, she will examine how and why race and gender matter online. She intends to pursue this passion for researching online identities after UIC as an assistant professor at a Research I institution. Jenny will be completing her third triathlon this summer and looks forward to the start of school, which coincides with the beginning of football season (roll tide!). She is proud to be an incoming member of the fourth cohort of doctoral students in communication and can't wait to meet other members of her new UIC community.
