University of Illinois Communication Collaboration Conference

Announcing
The sixth annual University of Illinois Communication Collaboration Conference is an academic forum where student researchers present their planned, in-progress, and finished work. This event also provides the opportunity for student researchers to interact with students and faculty from all three of the University of Illinois campuses.
The day long conference will take place on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the University of Illinois at Springfield campus. Lunch and snacks will be provided. For up to date information, see the UIS Department of Communication website.
The keynote speaker is Sandra Metts, a Communication Professor at Illinois State University. Metts research interests include relationship transgressions, forgiveness, facework and politeness, sexual communication, and emotions in close relationships. Her presentation title is "The Role of Emotion Experience and Expression in the Development and Maintenance of Close Relationships."
Location
The conference will be in University Hall Building (UHB), room 2008.

Call For Papers - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 25th!
Students who wish to participate in the conference should submit papers and abstracts by Wednesday, March 25, 2008. Follow these guidelines for submitting:
- The paper should be 15 to 20 pages only. Abstracts should be 500 words.
- Each presentation at the event will be no more than 15 minutes.
- Submit audiovisual equipment needs along with the paper or abstract.
- Indicate whether you would accept or prefer to present your work as a poster.
- Send submissions electronically to uicc09@gmail.com.
- The deadline for submissions is March 25.
