Commuter Appreciation Week
Held each fall, Commuter Appreciation Week is a series of events around campus hosted by a variety of offices to welcome and orientate commuters to UIC.
2012 Commuter Appreciation Week Schedule: Monday, September 24 Complementary Coffee and Donut at the L Location: UIC-Halsted Stop off Peoria St. Time: 8:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. Feeling a little tired during your Monday morning commute? The CSRC staff will be handing out coffee and donuts at the UIC Blue Line L stop beginning at 8:00 a.m. Stop by to say hi, ask any commuting questions you may have, or simply start your day off with complementary coffee and donuts! Tuesday, September 25 Self Defense Seminar Location: CSRC Multipurpose Room (SCE 245) Time: 4:00p.m. Learn the basics of self-defense strategies and safety tips from UIC Ju-Jitsu in this interactive workshop. Wednesday, September 26 Get Crafty! Location: Student Center West Mall Time: 11:30a.m. to 2p.m. This craft expo will feature multiple craft stations to make fun items you can keep, bands to enjoy, and free food! Thursday, September 27 Counseling Center - M.U.S.E Program Location: CSRC Multipurpose Room (SCE 245) Times: 12p.m. Learn about meditation during the first of the Counseling Center's MUSE programs in the CSRC. Bike Maintenance Location: Lecture Center Quad Times: 2:00p.m. Learn the basics of bike maintenance at this workshop. Feel free to bring your own bike! Friday, September 28 CSRC Game Day! Location: CSRC Time: 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. From board games to Wii, the CSRC will be transformed into a festive, game-filled atmosphere. Come meet others and play your favorite games!
