The UIC Office of Testing Services (OTS) serves two major groups:  the students and academic units of The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and the general population of metropolitan Chicago.  OTS is a member of the National College Testing Association (NCTA).

The mission of the Office of Testing Services is to assist faculty and staff with assessment services to admit and retain the students who attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and to assist the general public with proctoring services in a secure environment. The Office of Testing Services values the security of test materials, confidentiality, integrity, and world-class customer service. We understand the importance of the faculty, students, and other clients of Testing Services.

Proctoring service is available to the University of Illinois affiliates and the general public. Proctored exams are normally conducted in a classroom-type testing room, which is quiet and reasonably free of distractions. Several exams may be conducted simultaneously, so examinees should not expect to have exclusive use of the testing room for the entire length of the exam. If an exam requires the use of audio or the use of other potentially distracting procedures, materials, or equipment, requests for proctoring such an exam may or may not be honored. The cost to proctor each exam is $25.00 for University of Illinois affiliates and $35.00 for the general public and is payable by check or money order on the day of testing. Appointments are available Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm (2:00 pm being the latest time that you can schedule an exam). Under special circumstances and depending on the time required to take the exam, we will do our best to make special accommodations. If you are interested in our proctoring service, please complete the form in its entirety. Your request will be reviewed and you will be notified within 48 hours.

OTS is located in the Student Services Building (SSB) at 1200 West Harrison Street, Chicago, IL 60607 on the East Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.  A short distance south and west of Chicago's Loop, on the northwest corner of Racine and Harrison streets (1200 West, 600 South), OTS is readily accessible by public transportation as well as by car.  The CTA's Blue Line stops one half-block north of SSB on Racine street, and each of Chicago's major expressways passes within a few blocks of the UIC campus.  SSB is located across the street from the UIC Pavilion, and is within short walking distance of abundant public parking.  For a map of UIC's East Campus, and directions to OTS, click here.
