 ACT Residual Testing at UIC
.

The ACT Assessment is one of the most widely-used tests for undergraduate (college) admissions.  Many colleges and universities -- including UIC -- either require or accept ACT scores as part of the admissions process.  The ACT Assessment is published by ACT, Inc. (formerly known as American College Testing).   For further information on the ACT Assessment, visit the ACT website.

Students wishing to take the ACT Assessment have two options:  the ACT National Testing Program, and the ACT Residual Testing Program.  Although the exams given under these two programs are the same, the policies and procedures governing them are quite different.

.
Students wishing to take the ACT Assessment through Residual testing at UIC may register for the exam through the UIC Office of Admissions.  Before registering, the student must have an application for undergraduate admission on file.  For more information on applying for admission to UIC, visit the UIC Office of Admissions web page.

The UIC Office of Testing Services conducts Residual ACT testing seven times each year, on weekdays, beginning at 9:00 am.  Testing takes approximately four hours to complete.  Results may be obtained by contacting the UIC Office of Admissions one week after testing.

The fee for taking the ACT Assessment through Residual testing at UIC is currently $30.00, payable in cash or by money order (no personal checks) at the time of testing.

***  Results from ACT Residual testing at UIC are valid ONLY for admission to UIC,  ***
and may not be reported to any other institution.

Students taking the ACT Assessment through Residual testing may not repeat the exam under Residual testing within a sixty-day period.  This sixty-day exclusion applies to all Residual ACT testing, even if the previous Residual exam was conducted at a different institution.

OTS is located in the Student Services Building (SSB) on the East Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago.  A short distance south and west of Chicago's Loop, on the northwest corner of Racine and Harrison streets (1200 West, 600 South), OTS is readily accessible by public transportation as well as by car.  The CTA's Blue Line stops one half-block north of SSB on Racine street, and each of Chicago's major expressways passes within a few blocks of the UIC campus.  SSB is located across the street from the UIC Pavilion, and is within short walking distance of abundant public parking.  For a map of UIC's East Campus, and directions to OTS, click here.
