CLEP Score Interpretation

The score interpretation data on this page is intended for use by UIC faculty and staff, strictly for informational purposes in connection with setting score requirements and interpreting CLEP scores.  UIC's Colleges and academic departments are not obliged to follow the ACE minimum score recommendations listed here -- policies on granting proficiency credit, and the standards for doing so are established by the individual Colleges and departments, at their sole discretion.  Nothing on this page should be interpreted to mean that any UIC College or academic department does, will, or should grant credit for a given CLEP exam, or accept a given score for such credit.

The UIC Office of Testing Services takes no position on the granting of CLEP credit, and makes no recommendations as to score requirements.  The exams listed on this page are simply the CLEP exams currently administered by the UIC Office of Testing Services, and several of them are not currently accepted for credit by any UIC College or academic department.

For more detailed information on test content, go to the CLEP exam descriptions web page.

UIC faculty who wish more detailed data on percentile equivalents for CLEP scale scores on specific exams, can obtain this information by sending an e-mail to clarfitz@uic.edu.
