GIS
Guided Individual Study
Correspondence exams from the Guided Individual Study (GIS) office of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are administered free of charge. Appointments for GIS testing are generally available weekdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, but due to resource constraints, there are several days each month when individual appointments are not possible. For this reason, examinees are encouraged to call for testing appointments at the earliest possible date, so as to give themselves maximum scheduling flexibility. For information on appointment availability, or to schedule a GIS correspondence exam, call OTS at (312) 996-0919.

| OTS is located in the Student Services Building (SSB) on the East Campus of UIC. A short distance south and west of Chicago's Loop, on the northwest corner of Racine and Harrison streets (1200 West, 600 South), OTS is readily accessible by public transportation as well as by car. The CTA's Blue Line stops one half-block north of SSB on Racine street, and each of Chicago's major expressways passes within a few blocks of the UIC campus. SSB is located across the street from the UIC Pavilion, and is within short walking distance of abundant public parking. For a map of UIC's East Campus, and directions to OTS, click here. |
