National League for Nursing
(NLN)
Nursing ACE Exams
(formerly Nursing Mobility
II)
Overview
Formerly the Nursing Mobility Profiles, NLN Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exams (ACE) are designed to evaluate previous learning in order to assist with placement of nurses who are seeking further nursing-related education. Nursing ACE I and II are administered to students by an official representative of the school of nursing at which they are seeking advanced placement. Bulletins for both exams, which contain detailed information about the content, scoring, and administration, are available from NLN customer service at no charge.
Exams are scored by NLN, and reported directly to the designated score recipient. For more information on the Nursing ACE exams, visit the NLN website.
Nursing ACE at UIC
UIC Nursing students wishing to register for NLN Nursing ACE exams should consult first with an Academic Advisor at the UIC College of Nursing to determine eligibility. Students who are eligible for one or more Nursing ACE exams may register through the UIC Office of Testing Services (OTS). Information on testing dates and times, registration deadlines, and fees is included in the registration packet. Registration packets and further information may be obtained at the OTS offices in Student Services Building.
*** Registration fees for NLN Nursing ACE exams are non-refundable. ***
Because OTS must order and pay for test materials in advance, we are not able to refund exam fees in cases of unexpected cancellations or no shows. We pay for the exams whether they are taken or not -- therefore, it is very important that students determine their eligibility with the UIC College of Nursing before registering.
How To Find Us
OTS is located in the Student Services Building (SSB) on the East Campus of the University of Illinois at Chicago. A short distance south and west of Chicago's Loop, on the northwest corner of Racine and Harrison streets (1200 West, 600 South), OTS is readily accessible by public transportation as well as by car. The CTA's Blue Line stops one half-block north of SSB on Racine street, and each of Chicago's major expressways passes within a few blocks of the UIC campus. SSB is located across the street from the UIC Pavilion, and is within short walking distance of abundant public parking. For a map of UIC's East Campus, and directions to OTS, click here.
