TRACY SEFL is a political and communications consultant with The Glover Park Group in Washington, DC. Most recently, she directed communications and research for the national advocacy group Wal-Mart Watch. During the 2004 presidential campaign, she served as an advisor to the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and worked in the "war room" for Kerry-Edwards. She has been a consultant to progressive advocacy groups and research director for a national women's rights organization. Trained as a sociologist, she is an author, media spokesperson, and featured speaker on Democratic politics and women's issues. She and husband Darius Tandon, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University, met in graduate school at UIC and have lived in the Washington, DC area since 1999.
ALICE DAN is a professor emerita of UIC and co-founder of the CRWG. Until her retirement in 2002, she served as the director of both the CRWG and UIC's National Center of Excellence in Women's Health. Dr. Dan has made significant contributions to the field of women's health, including research on the menstrual cycle and menopause. She is currently Director of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Chicago.
