I also have a dozen or so cases put on hold.  I have been as fair about their submission as possible.  Most of these cases are very simple and will require few aligners.  I've only sent them as needed.  And, yes, every one of them has been delayed until March.

If they cannot process even one of these cases until March, how will they ever process all of them in March?  It is not possible.

Will the company be forthright with us about timing?  I was originally told they were putting on extra staff .to handle the load.

I can see it coming….If we want to pay a fee to convert these cases to regular cases, we'll be able to get them back sooner.   Maybe there'll be an under the table arrangement for expediting cases.  Are they beyond extortion to protect their shareholders?  I certainly hope not.  But if anyone gets a whiff of anything funny like that, please say something.  We have our organizations keep close watch with what's going on.

(BTW, if we can't talk about this stuff here, where can we talk about it?)

Barry

Subject: Atropine

Fellow ESCO readers:

Charlie Ruff asked about experience with Atropine.?We have used it for 20 years with only couple of comments about a very dry mouth after the appointment.?We use it on both children and adults whenever an appointment is scheduled for bonding.?It is given in an envelope with our preprinted instructions and disclosure, 2 tablets for an adult (over 100 lbs) and 1 for a child.?Taken 1 to 1- 1/2 hrs prior to the appointment, it is very effective for most people. Some children don't respond, as with many drugs.?If someone arrives having forgotten to take the pill(s), we give them instantly with some fizzy (carbonated) liquid, such as diet soda, which speeds the drug through the stomach to be taken up in the small intestine.
I agree that bonding without this, especially indirect bonding, makes life difficult.

Dear Colleagues:
I've used Aligner and Invisalign, and I think that their is a kind of commercial "over-estimation" to the efficiecy of these systems. I hope that we discuss, in future, within ESCO about other issues in orthodontics than aligner and invisalign. Thank you, With my best respect to all.
