Dr. Noor Obaisi, UIC orthodontic graduate of Class 2013, has been selected as the winner of the 2013 Stanford New Investigator Award. Her reseach "Determination of the Transformation Temperature Ranges of Orthodontic Nickel-Titanium Archwires" exemplified exactly the award criteria of a very well designed and executed paper that incorporated standards-based research and standards development.

The John Stanford New Investigator Award is set up in honor of Dr. John Stanford. The goal of this award is to bring in a new generation of professionals to the important work of standards development and the Council on Scientific Affairs agreed that your paper was the best example of this.
