Postgraduates Learn Orascopy Technique

On February 9, 2001, the Department of Endodontics received a seminar on "Orascopy" by James K. Bahcall DMD, MS and Joseph Barss, DDS MS, of the Department of Endodontics Northwestern University School of Dentistry. Both Dr. Bachall and Barss were pioneers in this new form of magnification in endodontics using fiber optic technology with the ability to look down root canals.
Dr. James Bahcall demonstrates the Orascopy unit for Dr. Scott Bentkover who dons "virtual reality" glasses to view a magnified specimen.
Dr. Joseph Barss demostrates the Orascopy unit to the postgraduate students.
Postgraduates and faculty watch as Dr. Barss uses the fiber optic system to view the inside of a root canal.
