Bradford R. Johnson, D.D.S., M.P.H.E.
Director of Postdoctoral Endodontics

Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado and received his DDS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Johnson completed a one-year general practice residency at Michael Reese Hospital and practiced general dentistry for several years prior to endodontic specialty training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been teaching in the Department of Endodontics since 1991 and became Director of Postdoctoral Endodontics in 1997. In 2005, he received a Master of Health Professions Education degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and was selected to participate in the ADEA Leadership Institute Program in 2005-06.
Dr. Johnson has published clinical and research articles in the Journal of Endodontics, Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics, Journal of the American Dental Association, Journal of Dental Education, PPAD, and CDS Review and is coauthor of the chapters Periradicular Surgery in the 9th Edition (2007) of Pathways of the Pulp and Management Considerations for the Medically Complex Endodontic Patient in the 6th Edition (2008) of Ingle’s Endodontics. He currently serves on the Scientific Advisory and Manuscript Review Panels of the Journal of Endodontics and Oral Surgery Oral Medicine Oral Pathology Oral Radiology and Endodontics and has served on the AAE Research and Scientific Affairs Committee (2000-03; Chair, 2002-03), Continuing Education Committee (2003-06), and Evidence Based Endodontics Committee (2006-09; Chair, 2008-09). His primary research interests include: clinical decision making, dental education, clinical outcomes research, and tissue regeneration. He maintains a clinical practice limited to endodontics in the UIC College of Dentistry Faculty Practice.
