ENDODONTIC MICROSCOPE CENTER
The Department of Endodontics Microscope Center was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 11, 1996.
This state-of-the-art center is located on the third floor of the dental school off the Endodontic Clinic, room 311. It has four Global M5 surgical microscopes; each scope has two viewing ports and each scope has its own television monitor. This center was made possible thanks largely to the endodontic alumni who donated over 50% of it's $200,000 price tag. Undergraduate, general dentistry, and postgraduate dental students along with continuing education specialists, will be trained on the use of these microscopes by faculty in the department. Two-day courses in: "Micro-surgical and non-surgical root canal therapy utilizing microscopic techniques"; "Endodontic retreatment under a microscope"; and "Endodontic diagnosis, documentation, and teaching" are some of the C.E. courses planned for the center.
With the opening of the new microscope laboratory, the Department of Endodontics remains on the cutting edge of technology for its students and faculty.
