Career Prep Day - Mentor Registration
Saturday Morning, January 23, 2010
Beginning at 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
This is an on-campus event
Goal: Mentor Juniors and Seniors on their job hunting and interviewing skills and using their greatest tools – the resume, experience and communications.
Expectations: Career Prep Day emphasizes developing exact, high quality interview skills. The Engineering Career Center pre-screens resumes so they do not need common editing. Mentors should be able to help students to deconstruct resumes so they learn how to highlight skills and communicate those skills as a benefit to a future employer.
Mentors should have at least 3 years hands-on experience as an engineer plus experience as a mentor or in a hiring/interviewing capacity.
Format Change: If you have volunteered as a mentor in the past, you will notice a change in format. The January Career Prep Day is a morning event that begins at 8:30 AM with a networking session for alumni. The alumni panel follows at 9:15 AM. Mentoring begins at about 10:45 AM. This is an on-campus event.
Mentor registration is now closed
For Mentor Registration Closes on January 12. Mentors registering between January 6 and 12 may be on an As-Needed to match the needs of our students.
