Winners of the 2009 Chicago City Science Fair UIC College of Engineering Awards were given at the Museum of Science and Industry on March 29.

Students at the city competition were selected from a field of many thousands of Chicago science fair participants. The UIC College of Engineering gave five $200 awards to the students with the best engineering related work. Awarded by Computer Science faculty member Dale Reed (at left), the winners (left to right) were:

Jacqueline Olguin, 8th grade at Hamline, "Supporters"

Daniela Flax, 8th grade at Lincoln, "Absorbed Peltier Heat Dependence on Current"

Suad Causevic, 10th grade at Lane Tech, "Keep it Cool"

Leah Balay-Wilson, 10th grade at Lincoln Park, "Fractal Complexity of Irradiated Tissues"
