Merle Davis is President of Automotion, Inc., located in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Automotion is a privately owned company and manufactures conveyor systems used to transport cartons in manufacturing and distribution facilities. Mr. Davis joined the company in 1992 as Vice President of Operations and was named President in 1993. Since 1995, thirteen UIC College of Engineering graduates have been hired by the company. Prior to joining Automotion, Mr. Davis worked for twenty years at Montgomery Ward in various positions, including Planning Manager for Distribution and Catalog Operations, Manager of Administration and Finance, and Corporate Headquarters Facilities and Services Manager. Mr. Davis graduated from the UIC College of Engineering in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering. He also has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. Mr. Davis was born in Chicago and has lived in the metropolitan area his entire life. He currently resides in Wheaton with his wife and two daughters.
