Bob Kleiber is a UIC alumnus, completing a BSME in 1974, and MSME in 1975. He also has an MBA from Bradley University (1994). He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois. Bob has had a wide variety of product development experiences in his 30-year career at Caterpillar Inc., ranging from engineering analysis to product design, product testing, and applied research. His technical accomplishments include production design of the D6H track roller frame and recoil mechanism, design leadership for the D6H Differential Steering system, and he facilitated a team that created a 10-year manufacturing technology strategy. Bob has been an engineering manager at Caterpillar since 1989, and actively recruits on the UIC campus. He is currently involved in CaterpillarÕs 6 Sigma program as a Master Blackbelt, promoting the use of Taguchi methods in robust design.
