DEAN'S COLUMN

Dear alumni and friends:

I am delighted to congratulate Professor Randall Meyer of the Department of Chemical Engineering on his receiving the very prestigious National Science Foundation CAREER Award. Each year about 200 faculty members in science and engineering in the USA receive this award. As part of this award, he will receive about $400,000 over five years to perform research on a project entitled “Fundamental Studies of the Roles and Interaction of Disparate Metal p-d Alloy Catalysts.”

I am also very pleased to congratulate Professor Jie Liang of the Department of Bioengineering who was elected a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
