Lisa A. Freeman specializes in eighteenth-century literature and culture as well as in drama and performance studies. Her current project takes up the subject of antitheatricality and censorship from the Renaissance to present day America. She is also working on a book on the idea of progress both in the eighteenth-century novel and in criticism of the novel.
