Entrance requirements

Applicants are considered annually each spring on an individual basis for fall admission.

Baccalaureate Field
To be accepted into the program, you must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Though there are no restrictions on baccalaureate field, prior academic work should include the equivalent of at least two years of a foreign language and a broad background in the humanities and social sciences.

Grade Point Average
To be admitted to the program, you must meet the minimum requirements of the Graduate College. Additionally, full admission status into the program requires a G.P.A. of a "B" or higher (4.0 on a 5.0 scale, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) during the final 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of undergraduate study.

Tests Required
Applicants from countries where the primary language is not English must take the Test of Spoken English (TSE) in addition to the TOEFL. A TSE score of at least 50 is required for consideration. The minimum TOEFL score for consideration is: 590 (paper-based); 243 (computer-based); 95 (new Internet-based TOEFL), with subscores of  Reading 24, Listening 24, Speaking 24, and Writing 22. Note that the GRE is not required for admission to this program, but if you have taken it, you should submit those scores with your application.
