The Great Shake Out: Earth Quake Preparedness

February 7, 2012 at 10:15 A.M. UIC will be participating in the Great Shake Out. The Great Shake out is an Earth Quake Preparedness Drill for the Mid Western States that could be affected by an earth quake along the New Madres Fault. When an earth quake happens along this fault Chicago can expect some minor damage (broken glass, items falling off walls). All units (faculty, staff, and students) are also encouraged to take a few minutes on the 7th to discuss earth quake preparedness. See links below.

The School of Public Health Student Sections of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the American Industrial Hygiene Association is having a brown bag lunch gathering with Tony Dawson, the Manager of Community Outreach and Faith based Relations of the City of Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management, will be speaking on earth quake preparedness. The event will be held at the School of Public Health and Psychiatric Institution, 1603 W. Taylor St., from Noon to 2 P.M. in room 932.
