Completing OnLine Training
Introduction

The following instructions are for accessing the UIC/EHSO on-line training.The training is required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for all UIC researchers, students, residents, faculty, and staff that are required to wear particulate respirators when there is potential exposure to airborne infectious materials and/or other harmful airborne particulate matter. Once the training has been reviewed and the test has been successfully passed, you must be fitted with the appropriate respirator by EHSO (referred to as "fit-testing"), according to your supervisor's or program coordinator's instruction. The training & test, along with respirator fit-testing, must be completed annually or more frequently, if deemed necessary.

Time Commitment

The course will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. If you cannot complete the course in one session, you may log in at a later time using the same user name and continue with course.
Rules
  • A score of 80% is required for passing.
  • A passing score is required to fulfill the training requirement and to proceed to the final step of fit-testing.
  • Should a user fail the exam the exam may be taken more than once.
  • DO NOT attempt to take the quiz without first viewing the entire course.
Getting Started

Complete the following steps to register for and access the online training course.

  1. Go to http://www.uictraining.org
  2. Use the following table:

Complete user profile and proceed to step 3.

  1. Select Course Catalog from the menu on the left.
  2. Check mark "Environmental Health and Safety" and click on Browse Selected Categories
  3. Click on "2012 Disposable Particulate Respirators"course.
  4. Click on the Enroll.
  5. Click onMy Courses .
  6. Click on Launch Course and complete the course.

  7. Click on Quiz, complete quiz and click on Submit Answers.
  8. Exam will be scored and result will be provided. For failed exams, please review respiratory Training outline and click on Retake exam.

    If the On-line test can not be passed within the three attempts, you will be required to meet with an EHSO Respiratory Protection Trainer for assistance.
  9. Once exam is successfully completed with a passing score, the system will indicate that the course has been completed.
  10. An email will be sent to user regarding training certificate.
Verification of Training

Following successful completion of the course/test, the UIC Training Learning Management System (LMS) will generate an automatic email to the user indicating which course/test has been completed and providing information as to accessing and printing the certificate for completed course/test.
