2009 Financial Aid Calendar

It’s very important that you review the financial aid calendar and are aware of the various deadlines. Due to federal, state and institutional regulations, if the appropriate financial aid paperwork is not submitted in its entirety by the deadlines, you will be ineligible to receive assistance for the semester or academic year in question. In such cases, you will be 100% responsible for any outstanding bill, without financial assistance. Periodically the OSFA will send reminders about missing paperwork, but ultimately it is your responsibility and no one else’s.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online for the 2009-10 academic year.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for spring 2009 semester.

5-9

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the spring 2009 semester.

Classes begin for spring 2009 semester.

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (spring 2009 semester) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the spring 2009 semester.

February

Summer 2009 semester Financial Aid application available.

March

Priority deadline for submitting the 2009-10 academic year FAFSA.

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for spring 2009.

Financial Aid Awards for the 2009-10 academic year are made available on-line to new students.

April

Priority deadline for submitting the Financial Aid application for the summer 2009 semester.

Financial Aid Awards for the summer 2009 semester are made available to students.

Last day to submit any outstanding documents for the spring 2009 semester.

May

Last day to accept financial aid awards and sign promissory notes for the spring 2009 semester.

Spring 2009 semester ends.

Annual Satisfactory Academic Progress review and students notified accordingly of financial aid eligibility for summer 2009, fall 2009 and spring 2010 terms.

Classes begin for 4-week summer 2009 session.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for summer 2009 semester.

Last day to accept and complete late registration or drop a class (4-week summer 2009 session) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the summer 2009 semester.

20-22

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the summer 2009 semester.

June

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for summer 2009.

Financial Aid Awards for the 2009-10 academic year are made available on-line to continuing students.

4-week summer 2009 session ends.

Classes begin for 8-week summer 2009 session.

Last day to pay any waivers/assistantships/fellowships for the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters.

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (8-week summer 2009 session) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the summer 2009 semester.

Last day to accept and complete a Perkins Promissory note for the summer 2009 semester.

Last day to submit the Financial Aid application or any other outstanding documents for the summer 2009 semester.

July

Last day to accept financial aid awards and sign Direct Loan promissory notes for the summer 2009 semester.

August

8-week summer 2009 session ends.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for fall 2009 semester.

17-21

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the fall 2009 semester.

Classes begin for fall 2009 semester.

September

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (fall 2009 semester) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the fall 2009 semester.

Last day to submit Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL) Application Worksheet for College of Dentistry and College of Pharmacy students.

October

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for fall 2009.

Last day to pay any waivers/assistantships/fellowships for the summer 2009 semester.

November

Financial Aid Awards for the 2009-10 academic year are made available on-line to students starting in the spring 2010 semester.

Last day to submit any outstanding documents for the fall 2009 semester.

December

Last day to accept financial aid awards and sign promissory notes for the fall 2009 semester.

Fall 2009 semester ends.
