2013 Financial Aid Calendar

It's very important that you review the financial aid calendar and are aware of the various deadlines. Due to federal, state and institutional regulations, if the appropriate financial aid paperwork is not submitted in its entirety by the deadlines, you will be ineligible to receive assistance for the semester or academic year in question. In such cases, you will be 100% responsible for any outstanding bill, without financial assistance. Periodically the OSFA will send reminders about missing paperwork, but ultimately it is your responsibility.

January

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available online for the 2013-14 academic year.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for spring 2013 semester.

9-11

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the spring 2013 semester.

Classes begin for spring 2013 semester.

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (spring 2013 semester) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the spring 2013 semester.

February

Summer 2013 semester Financial Aid application available.

March

Priority deadline for submitting the 2013-14 academic year FAFSA.

11-15

Financial Aid Awards for the 2013-14 academic year begin to be made available on-line to new students.

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for spring 2013 semester.

April

Priority deadline for submitting the Financial Aid application for the summer 2013 semester.

8-12

Financial Aid Awards for the summer 2013 semester begin to be made available on-line to students.

Last day to submit any outstanding documents for the spring 2013 semester.

Last day to accept financial aid awards and sign promissory notes for the spring 2013 semester.

May

Spring 2013 semester ends.

16-17

Annual Satisfactory Academic Progress review and students notified accordingly of financial aid eligibility for summer 2013, fall 2013 and spring 2014 terms.

Classes begin for 4-week summer 2013 session.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for summer 2013 semester for students enrolled in the S1 term.

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (4-week summer 2013 session) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the summer 2013 semester.

23-24

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the summer 2013 semester.

Last day to submit the Financial Aid application or any other outstanding documents for the summer 2013 semester for those only enrolled in the 4-week session.

Last day to accept Federal Loans and to complete a Federal Perkins Master Promissory note for the summer 2013 semester for those only enrolled in the 4-week session.

June

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for summer 2013 semester.

Financial Aid Awards for the 2013-14 academic year begin to be made available on-line to continuing students.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for summer 2013 semester for students enrolled only in the S2 term.

4-week summer 2013 session ends.

Classes begin for 8-week summer 2013 session.

Last day to pay any waivers/assistantships/fellowships for the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters.

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (8-week summer 2013 session) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the summer 2013 semester.

Last day to submit the Financial Aid application or any other outstanding documents for the summer 2013 semester.

Last day to accept Federal Loans and to complete a Federal Perkins Master Promissory note for the summer 2013 semester.

Last day to accept all types of financial aid awards and sign Direct Loan promissory notes for the summer 2013 semester.

July

Last day to submit Health Professions Verification Worksheet for College of Dentistry and College of Pharmacy students for the 2013-14 academic year.

Recommended date in which financial aid awards should be accepted and any additional requirements such as promissory notes, loan counseling, etc., should be completed for the fall 2013 term.

August

8-week summer 2013 session ends.

First financial aid disbursement to students' account for fall 2013 semester.

21-23

First refunds for students with financial aid exceeding university charges for the fall 2013 semester.

Classes begin for fall 2013 semester.

September

Last day to complete late registration or drop a class (fall 2013 semester) for it to be considered when determining financial aid eligibility for the fall 2013 semester.

October

Last day to submit Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal for fall 2013 semester.

Last day to pay any waivers/assistantships/fellowships for the summer 2013 semester.

November

Financial Aid Awards for the 2013-14 academic year begin to be made available on-line to students starting in the spring 2014 semester.

Last day to submit any outstanding documents for the fall 2013 semester.

December

Last day to accept financial aid awards and sign promissory notes for the fall 2013 semester.

Fall 2013 semester ends.
