Financial Aid

Student Responsibilities

  • CONTACT FINANCIAL AID when you are applying for VA educational benefits. If you are applying for Title IV funds, you must include your GI Benefits on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Failure to provide your GI Benefits on the FAFSA application may cause adjustments to your award and possibly a bill back of resources received.
  • PLAN TO PAY for your tuition and fees by the due date.
  • REPORT IMMEDIATELY to UIC Office of Veteran Affairs repeat courses, changes of major, change in hours (withdrawals or increases), change of address, withdrawal from school and graduation.
  • MONITOR YOUR CURRICULUM with your academic advisor. Classes not applicable to your degree will not be covered by U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
  • VERIFY YOUR ATTENDANCE on the last day of each month, if you are Chapter 30 or 1606. A check will not be generated for you by VA unless this takes place.
