B. Terra Society Welcome Day
SES 2418 - Aug 18, 2005
Fall 2005 semester started with a welcome from our Graduate Student Director Peter Doran. This was followed by the professors giving us a background of their research, introducing us to their staff and students, and giving us a tour of their laboratories. The new students were also introduced to the EAES staff and were advised on what type of student-related responsibilities they handle.
Since EaES is a multi-cultural department, we had a culturally diverse potluck lunch. Rebecca¡¯s strawberry-rhubbarb pie, Abe¡¯s turon and Zenon¡¯s pancit won the best native delicacy award.

We had a good welcome day experience. We wouldn¡¯t have been able to organize that activity without valuable input during our meetings in the summer. Rebekah officially welcomed us into the school year, prepared the prize certificates and organized the lab tours.
Hung updated the webpages as many times as possible and kept track of the powerpoint files.
Zenon operated the computers, prepared post-activity notes and acted as our official photographer.
Abe patiently prepared the food drive and contest, gave sound advises for our activities and schedules. The lounge was prepared by
Pete, Greg, Natalie,
Glen, Andy, Karen
and Zenon.
Marilyn and Martin helped us prepare the program flyers and Natalie prepared a batch of the post activity notes.
