GLRSN Wins National Forum Award

On March 19, 2009, the Great Lakes Regional Stroke Network was presented with the “Heart Healthy Stroke Free Award” from the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention in Washington, DC. The award was received by Angela Bray Hedworth, Program Manager of the Great Lakes Regional Stroke Network by the National Forum for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Chair, Mark Shoeberl.

The National Forum Heart Healthy Stroke Free Award is presented to an individual or group in the field of public health whose work embodies the recommendations with the A Public Health Action Plan to Prevent Heart Disease and Stroke. This award is presented during at the annual meeting of the National Forum. Velma Thiessen and Eileen Worden of the Michigan Department of Community Health nominated the Network.
