The
Benefit Center administers the benefits program for over 11,500
benefit-eligible employees. This administration includes:
- presenting
benefits information during New Hire Orientation
- processing
changes in status, termination, leaves of absence, long
term disability, Central Management Services (CMS) discrepancies,
audit report discrepancies, 403 B and 457 Deferred Compensation,
death claims, etc.
- counseling
employees in any of the above activities
- assisting
new hires with insurance selection
- answering
questions concerning COBRA and cost of enrollment under
COBRA
- acting
as liaison between employees and the State Universities
Retirement System (SURS) or with Central Management Services
(CMS)
- assisting
employees with dependent recertification each spring and
fall
- assisting
employees during Benefits Choice Open Enrollment
- responding
to questions concerning benefits publications, CMS policies,
etc.
