The Annual Employee Performance Review is a key tool supporting your direct report’s continuing professional development at UIC. This review is part of an overall system designed to support UIC employees year-round through guidance, encouragement, and learning opportunities throughout the year.
Both Academic Professional and Civil Service employees participate in the review process, which takes place each year between May and August 15.

Communicating and documenting the Expectations you have for each team member is the foundation for a successful year for member of the team and your success.
The practice of coaching your direct reports, and Providing Feedback and guidance to your team throughout the year develops your team members’ mastery of their roles.
Conducting Annual Reviews is the central practice in the performance cycle. During the Review you will discuss your team member’s current job performance and identify opportunities for improvement. In addition to your job-related performance, you will assess your grasp of the Core Competencies recognized at UIC as essential for all high-performing professionals. The annual review gives your direct reports the opportunity to take stock of their progress and receive frank feedback on their performance, and seek guidance about how to advance in their career.
