Non-faculty job positions at UIC are categorized into three classifications, based on job function and credentials. The hiring process differs for each classification (see below).

Civil Service

Most UIC employees are in place under the Civil Service System. Employees under the Civil Service system are permanent employees, and Civil Service positions may be hourly or exempt.
