Accountant I
Department of Anesthesiology


Under general supervision, reconcile, classify, and analyze accounts payable and receivable transactions for the department. Job responsibilities: Reconcile departmental accounting records against university-wide operating statements and general ledgers. Reconcile department P-Cards, prepare travel reimbursements, general vouchers, and post expenses/deposits to appropriate accounts. Provide purchasing services for the department control and monitor educational account spending by faculty and residents. Prepare monthly and year end revenue and expense reports. Execute year end closing procedures for self-supporting and educational funds. Maintain department accounting records in preparation for university or external audits. Assist other office administration staff with clerical duties as needed and perform other related duties.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Work experience and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field totaling three years and a Bachelor’s Degree or higher Strong Desire Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles. Basic knowledge of Ratex and Banner systems. With two to four years of accounting experience. Intermediate Excel and Word skills. Anesthesia Technician

Anesthesia technicians support and provide technical functions that relate to the care and monitoring of patients receiving anesthesia prior to and during operations in a health care facility. They also order, set up and clean up equipment, instruments and supplies. Any malfunctions or necessary repairs for equipment (including anesthesia carts) must be reported to upper level anesthesia technicians so that Facilities Management and/or Clinical Engineering are notified. Upper level technicians are required to follow up and oversee the completion of work done. Anesthesia technicians do work under the general or specific direction of the professional anesthesia staff. Upper level anesthesia technicians supervise and train lower level anesthesia technicians and assist in the management of anesthesia operations.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school graduation or equivalent
2. Three (3) years of experience in a hospital setting involving work with anesthesia machines, gases, and related equipment

Bookstore Department Supervisor

The UIC Bookstore at the University of Illinois at Chicago has an immediate opening for a Bookstore Department Supervisor in the textbook department to oversee a growing e-commerce department. The Bookstore Department Supervisor reports to the Assistant Director of the UIC Bookstore supervising the textbook department who in turn reports to the Associate Director of Retail Operations. The incumbent must be proficient in providing administrative, organizational, and technical assistance to the textbook purchasing department. He/She must perform tasks related to the support of the Textbook Department of the UIC Bookstore. Such tasks may include ordering textbooks, assisting in the returns process of unsold books, monitoring the inventory of the department, providing customer service, maintaining ecommerce, and other duties relating to merchandising in a retail environment. The incumbent must also have general working knowledge in technology; computer programming, database administration, network administration, and telecommunications with experience in website management and ecommerce a plus. The incumbent must have excellent leadership skills in conjunction with supervision experience. The incumbent must be able to interpret University policies in addition to Department of Retail policies, procedures and rules and must possess effective written and verbal skills.

Infection Control Practitioner


The University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago Department of Infection Control is seeking a full time Infection Control Practitioner. Information Technology Technical Associate - Infrastructure
College of Medicine


The College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for a full-time, experienced IT Technical Associate to work in our Infrastructure area. The IT Technical Associate will provide technical expertise in implementation and maintenance of systems and hardware and software components, providing assistance in the development and assessment of hardware and software components, recommending optimum equipment and software configurations, and providing technical guidance with regard to proper data processing methods, performance standards, security measures, and systems analysis. Overview

• Demonstrated use of web design and HTML and a working knowledge of PHP and MySQL.

This position directs and manages the administrative support units within the Division of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC). Develops manages, implements and evaluate seminars and training programs for internal staff and external communities. Conducts statewide seminars for new DSCC initiatives. Salary Grade 28.  Minimum starting salary $49,764.
 

The minimum requirements for this position are:

1. Any one or any combination of the following totaling four years (48 months):

(a) Credit for college training with major in education or other training and development fields or human resource administration

• 30 semesters hours equal 12 months
• 60 semesters hours equal 24 months
• 90 semesters hours equal 36 months
• 120 semesters hours equal 48 months

Or

(b) Credit for college training with concentration in fields other than previously mentioned

• Bachelor’s Degree equal 3 years
• Master’s Degree equal 4 years

Or

(c) Work experience as human resource or training professional.
 

2. Fours years of professional work experience in the training and development profession.

Training and Development Specialist II / Instructional Designer


The University of Illinois at Chicago seeks a Training and Development Specialist II /Instructional Designer to support the UIC employee development program. The incumbent will design technical and leadership training for delivery to employees across the university’s administrative units and colleges.
 

Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional groups to gather information about business processes to design and deliver employee development solutions. Expected to balance multiple projects and shifting requirements. Flexibility and ability to adapt to meet customer needs is required. Evaluate employee training needs and provide input to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness for design of new e-learning curriculum. Project management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills are requirements for this role.
 

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Business Administration, Psychology or Educational Technology and certificate in Instructional Design required. A minimum of six years experience developing instructional materials in a business environment.
 

Strong problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills. Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Expert in at least one instructional technology tool such as Adobe Presenter, Captivate, or SnagIt. Team player with excellent collaboration, written and oral communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong background in blended learning and ability to translate ideas into clear written and visual materials preferred. Experience with Microsoft Project, Adobe Writer, Macromedia Dreamweaver and facilitation via WebEx preferred.
