Civil Service - Temporary/Extra Help Procedures

Department Responsibilities

1. Complete Standalone Form (Do not use Civil Service Requisition) in Hiretouch

    a. Make note of Job ID number

2. Complete Extra Help Requisition (For Campus only)

    a. Enter Job ID on Extra Help Requisition

3. Identify Candidate

4. Have candidate complete on-line application providing all educational and employment history

**Please note that Human Resources will monitor and terminate Extra Help at the end of the pay period in which the Extra Help Temporary reaches 900 hours**


Candidate Responsibilities

1. Completes on-line application before the scheduled appointment with Extra Help representative

2. Complete New Hire forms


Extra Help Department Responsibilities

1. Qualify candidate based on job duties

2. Review recommended Rate of Pay

3. Schedule Health Screening and obtain all necessary clearances

4. Email candidate date, time and documents to bring to meeting

5. Meet with candidate and review completed hire paperwork

6. Complete paperwork with Candidate

7. Initiates Front End process to obtain logon for Nessie New Hire

8. Email department the candidate approved start date.

9. Monitor and terminate appointments at the end of the pay period prior to Extra Help Employee reaching 900 hours

10. Email departments with the anticipated end date of the Extra Help Employee’s assignment
