University of Illinois at Chicago Human Resources
New Employee Orientation Registration Process
Role of the Newly-Hired Employee:
As of August 18, 2008, all UIC new hires need to register for Campus Information Session and Benefits Information Session using NESSIE New Hire.
Role of the Departmental Recruiting and Hiring Representative:
Communication from the Department Recruiting and Hiring Representatives is required to raise awareness about the UIC onboarding process. It is importatnt for HR contacts in Department/Unit to take "ownership" for guiding their new employees to the appropriate resources and online sites NESSIE New Hire for successful onboarding.
- Establish a NESSIE New Hire Log-On ID for a new hire employee as soon as an offer has been accepted. Once new hire information is entered into NESSIE , the new employee will receive an email, confirming their log-in id and access to NESSIE New Hire
- Provide the new hire employee with a New Employee Benefits Checklist, which includes information he or she will need to complete the NEO registration process through NESSIE . The hiring Departments can either mail a hard copy of this form to the new employee, or direct the employee to the NESSIE New Hire website
- Verify that a new employee has registered for a NEO session by viewing the Task List for that employee in DART. If a newly-hired employee has not yet registered prior to the established start date, the Department should contact the employee as a reminder
