Supervisory Excellence

To perform competently, the UIC supervisor must have an informed and balanced perspective of the demands of the job, the UIC context and the external environment. This course offers new supervisor the opportunity to learn basic skills needed to supervise others as well as the policies/procedures, compliance requirements, and knowledge needed to perform supervisory responsibilities at UIC.

What you will learn:
         -     To identify the characteristics of an individual contributor and a leader
         -     How to make decisions according to relevant laws, policies and procedures established by university resources
         -     Demonstrate positive communication skills
         -     Ways to construct a formal and informal system to recognize employees
         -     Deliver Positive Constructive Performance feedback
         -     How to develop an action plan for on the job implementation
