Military Science

All academically eligible students are welcome in Military Science courses. Students may enroll in military science and naval science courses regardless of sexual orientation, in accordance with the university's non-discrimination policy. However, students should be aware that homosexual conduct, which may be interpreted as stating that one is lesbian, gay, or bisexual is grounds for disqualification from entering into a contract with the federal government to become a commissioned officer. ROTC and the state of Illinois offer scholarship and tuition waiver opportunities for qualified students. Contact the Military Science Department for details. Naval Science classes will meet at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

         1 TO 3 hours.
        May be repeated to a maximum of 4 hours if topics vary. Students may register in more than one section per term. Prerequisite(s): Approval of the department.  Departmental Approval Required 

MILS     202            Leadership Dynamics
         2 hours.

MILS     302            Organizational Leaders

        Prerequisite(s): MILS 101 and MILS 102 and MILS 201 and MILS 202 or the equivalent courses and approval of the department.  To be properly registered, students must enroll in one Laboratory-Discussion and one Lecture-Discussion. 

MILS     312            Training and Resource Management

        Prerequisite(s): MILS 301 and MILS 302 and approval of the department.  To be properly registered, students must enroll in one Laboratory and one Lecture-Discussion. 

MILS     394            Advanced Military Topics
         1 TO 3 hours.

MILS     399            Advanced Independent Research
         1 TO 3 hours.
