Establishing an EnterpriseID for New Students

New Students:

All students - may obtain their EnterpriseID by following the instructions below.

International Students - International Students cannot register for classes until they have arrived on campus and checked in with the Office of International Services.

You will need an EnterpriseID in order to login, register for classes, make address changes, review grades, and request transcripts as well as access other services.

You may want to print this page to use as a worksheet. Please follow the steps below to obtain your EnterpriseID:

  1. Establishing my NetID - You need to establish a campus NetID.
New Students can establish their NetID by going to the link given below:
    https://tigger.uic.edu/htbin/cgiwrap/bin/password/pass.cgi?dispatch=activate_panel
You will minimally need the following information to establish your NetID:
    - UIN: Listed on your admissions letter as an Applicant ID.
    - Social Security Number (SSN): If you did not submit a Social Security number during your application process, you were assigned a Temporary Control Number. This number is listed on your admissions letter. If it wasn't listed on your admissions letter, then please contact the Registration Helpline at (312) 996-8600.
    - Birth date
    - Name
  2. Following the procedures for establishing your NetID and password from the appropriate website listed above.
    - My NetID is ___________________________
    - Remember your password! You will need it for step 4!
    - If you have any problems establishing your NetID, contact your campus help desk.
    UIC - ACCC Help Desk - (312) 413-0003 or consult@uic.edu
    - Now that you have established your campus specific NetID, you need to create your EnterpriseID.
  3. Establishing my EnterpriseID:

    - Click Login. You will be prompted for your NetID.
    - Click Enter. You will be prompted for your NetID password (the one you established in step 2).
  4. You will be provided your EnterpriseID. In many cases this will be identical to your NetID. There may be occasions where the NetID and the EnterpriseID will be different and you will need to know both depending on which system you wish to access.
    - My EnterpriseID is ____________________________
  5. Establishing my Enterprise password:
Once your EnterpriseID is displayed, you will need to establish an EnterpriseID password. There are specific rules on how passwords should be created listed on the website. The password creator will not allow unauthorized passwords. Make certain to remember your passwords!
  6. REGISTERING!
    - Using a web browser, connect to https://apps.uillinois.edu
    - Choose Student and Faculty Self Service
    - Select University of Illinois at Chicago
    - Log in using the EnterpriseID and password established in steps 4 & 5
Why do we need to do this?
Once you have completed step 6, you will have two IDs and two passwords. They may appear the same depending on how your IDs and passwords were established, but they have very different purposes. Campus-specific services are managed separately from University-wide services and require unique authentication scripts.
The first one (NetID) allows you to access campus specific sites and services - such as email and Blackboard. (Usually these sites are designated by campus domains -- uic.edu; uis.edu or uiuc.edu). The second (EnterpriseID) allows you to access the University-wide administrative system for official records, for example Student Services, Financial Aid or Billing. (Usually these sites are designated with the uillinois.edu domain.)
