The Language Oasis is a social space for foreign language students to study, practice speaking with other foreign language learners and to exchange ideas about language learning and cultural experiences.
The space itself is spacious and bright with floor to ceiling windows. The room is equipped with two flat screen TV’s that contain international programming, including all of the foreign languages taught at UIC. It also contains small tables and chairs for studying and lounging.
It is an ideal space for conversations hours and language clubs to meet. Culture-focused talks that are of interest to all foreign language learners are scheduled each month. Please contact us at lclc@uic.edu for topic or guest speakers.
The Oasis cannot be reserved for events.
