Setting up Blackboard Site for Your Language Class
Enhance your teaching by providing useful blackboard functions
• General Introduction to the layout of Blackboard
• How to navigate in your site
• How to manage your class content
• How to set up Gradebook
• How to use SafeAssign to detect plagiarism in essays
• Hands on practice on customizing your course site
• Examples of languages-specific applications used in Blackboard
• Once set-up, you can reuse this set up as a template for following semesters
No previous knowledge required. This workshop will be hands on experience for beginners. We will provide assistance for individual participants.

Using Audio Materials in Language Teaching
Enhance your teaching by providing students with additional opportunities to
• Develop listening skills: create audio-based activities (podcasts), embed youtube clips as prompts for discussion boards
• Improve speaking skills: set up audioblogs, student podcast projects, voice presentations; set up oral exams (Audacity, Wimba, Voicethreads)
No previous knowledge required. This workshop will be hands on experience for beginners. We will provide assistance for individual participants.
