Research
I have two related areas of research. I am
focusing on interdisciplinary education and scholarly communication,
particularly on the characteristics of journal articles which address or
illustrate interdisciplinary work. With two colleagues, I am working on a paper
on use statistics for electronic resources. of library resources and services.

Grants
From 1991 to 1999, I have participated in cooperative collections grants awarded by the Cooperative Collection Management Program (CCMP) of the State of Illinois. Through that program I have received over $39,500 to purchase materials for UIC Library collections.
Other grant activity includes the University of Illinois, Learning Technology grants, in which I was a contributor, with John Shuler, for library part of grant to College of Urban Planning and Public Administration, 1995-96, $6,000. It also includes, from the Japan Foundation, a donation of books worth 853,985 yen (over $6,800), with Stephen Wiberley and John Cullars, October 1992.
I have twice received funding from the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Professional Liaison Committee, (a total of $500), to help fund participation in the Association of Integrative Studies annual meetings, 1988 and 1990.
Librarianship
As Bibliographer for Professional Studies I serve as
liaison with faculty members of Colleges of Business and Education, School of
Kinesiology, Department of Economics, and Urban Planning and Policy program. I
am responsible for building and maintaining the collection in all formats for
those areas including collection building, assessment and evaluation. Faculty
