Research
My research interests have developed as a result of my experience as head of Information Services. Examining the constantly evolving roles that reference librarians in the health sciences are and should be performing to best meet the needs of our various patron groups is of primary interest to me. To that end, I have published papers that exam the roles librarians can perform to support evidence-based medicine, outreach and JCAHO accreditation at their institutions.

My librarianship focuses on meeting the information needs of our patrons. My role as a supervisor dictates that I spend much of my time and effort overseeing that the librarians in Information Services direct their efforts towards this same goal. I train new resident librarians, supervising them as well as more experienced librarians while determining departmental priorities to insure that we place our energies in the most productive areas. I also teach on a limited basis, and provide some direct service at the reference desk to maintain contact with patrons and keep abreast of reference issues.
