 (The poem caption on the right of the picture):
We move through moving time with all our store.
We carry .. the word sings with care and courage!
The child, we say, is carried months before
It sees the sky. Grown tall, we approve its carriage.
True voices carry far; far voices ringing
Carry us back to an old Virginia dream.
The brave say, Carry on. Last, the low-swinging
Sweet chariot descends to carry us home.
Life's what we carry, as blood carries air.
Nations have lifeblood: the bright veins of steel
Carry in cells our treasure-trove and care..
The world's no wider than a freight-car wheel.
Men in the cave took flat stones, made a plow;
We took horizons and make Here and Now.
