Daley Circulation Department Reserves: Mailing dates for reserve information packets

Information on this page deals with the reserve service at the Daley Library. Specifics about Reserves at other UIC Library sites is linked to the UIC Library Reserves page.

In the 11th week of fall and spring semester, reserve information packets are mailed to teaching faculty who used reserve services in the previous term. Ample time is needed to order and process new or replacement volumes, locate journal articles, and recall items which are circulating. An early alert: Reserve lists are processed in the order received. Even if the list is not yet complete, submit it. Additions to the list will be accepted through the 14th week of the semester. Indicate those items students need to use at the start of the semester so that they can be processed first. If the list is a carry-over from a previous semester, please note that on the list.

Reserve submission deadline dates are six weeks prior to the start of classes. Lists received after the deadline may not be processed in time for the beginning of the semester.

After the semester has begun, changes and additions to lists are handled as time permits. Blank reserve list forms can be printed from the PDF format, or download and saved to disk from the MS Word or Corel WordPerfect format. MS Word and Corel WordPerfect formats are preferred if lists are sent as e-mail attachments. Printed copies of the blank forms are available from the Reserve Desk on request.
