Reserves: specifications for reserve lists

Information on this page deals predominantly with traditional/print reserves; refer to the pages on ERes service for assistance with Electronic Reserves. Information on Reserves at other UIC Library sites is linked to the UIC Library Reserves page.

Reserve lists can be sent as an e-mail attachment to LIB-RES@uic.edu; MS Word and Corel WordPerfect formats are preferred. The Library will accept lists in any format so long as they meet the following requirements:

General Requirements

Course and number (e.g., SOCW 105)
Instructor
E-mail address and phone number
Class enrollment
Loan period for each item (traditional reserve items)
Number of copies needed
URL if there is a Website for the course

Physical Requirements

1.5 inch left margin for hole-punching

Specific Requirements

Do not include optional/recommended readings or handwritten lists. Do include "required" readings with complete bibliographic citations.

Book Chapter:	Title of Chapter, Author of Chapter; (if different from author of book) Title of Book, Author of Book, Publisher, year; pages.
Journal Article:	Title of Article, Author of article; Journal title, volume, issue, number, year; pages.
Homeworks:	Title, Author.
Lecture Notes:	Title, Author.
